Go Wild in Eden  

Catch and release fly fishing for wild brown trout and grayling on 28 beats in the Eden Valley. On private land these beats are a real challenge; the trout put up a fight and the environment is just as Mother Nature intended, no neatly manicured river banks, mown footpaths or heated huts. There’s obstacles everywhere; weeds, tree roots, boulders, overhanging branches, fallen branches, bits of trees and that tall stuff growing on the river bank, usually hiding things for you to trip over.

Tokens are valid for one fishing season only and most beats on the river require between 2 and 4 tokens.

Sponsor habitat work

Help us restore habitats around the Eden to improve the river habitat and the environment. We will issue a certificate detailing the work carried out, and information on the benefits it will bring to the area.
£10 will pay for us to restore 1 metre of river habitat.

Fund a Fish Pass

Fish passes allow fish to get around man made obstacles in the rivers that prevent them from reaching their spawning grounds. These obstacles are often important and can’t just be removed so an alternative has to be used to ensure that migratory fish such as salmon and trout can get around the rivers and fish populations remain healthy.

Sponsor a day’s electro fishing

We carry out electro-fishing surveys throughout the catchment from July to September every year. They are important as they give us excellent information on the health of the river. This is normally carried out by one member of Eden Rivers Trust staff and volunteers. It is very time and labour intensive but is vital for monitoring the health of the river.
