Eden Rivers Trust Awards

2010 : Wild Trout Trust and Orvis Conservation Awards.
Winner of the Professional Category for our Trout Stream Project in the Eden catchment, addressing pollution, bank-side damage by farm animals, barriers to fish migration, and poor habitat and fish recruitment.  This project was considered to have used a wide range of techniques to obtain the best improvements for the resources expended.

2010 : Association of Rivers Trusts Awards.
Becky Helm our Education officer won the award for “Outstanding contribution to the Rivers Trust movement” for her role as Education Officer for the past 5 years.  In this time she worked with over 10,000 people including 5500 school children from 50 different schools, 200 adults in higher education, and 5000 members of the general public. She was also instrumental in the successful delivery of Eden Rivers Trust‘s 1.2 million Heritage Lottery funded Discover Eden project.

2010 : North West Business Environment Awards.
Runner-up in the Environmental Champions (Media and Communications) category.  This was for our successful communications campaign to raise awareness about the importance and beauty of the River Eden and to conserve and protect the local wildlife, including the endangered white-clawed crayfish. 

2005: The Association of Rivers Trusts.
‘Contribution to Best Fisheries Project with Environmental Improvements’ (sponsored by the Salmon & Trout Association): Alistair Maltby and Lucy Dugdale for the R.A.R.E. project and electro-fishing surveying programme.

2005: The Wild Trout Trust and Classic Malts Conservation Awards.
Professional Category, runner – up: Go Wild in Cumbria.

2003/2004: Cumbria Business Education Consortium.
Work Experience Awards: Winner of the Eden Regional Award.

1999/2000: English Nature SSSI Award.
‘for the outstanding achievements of the Eden Rivers Trust in the management of the River Eden and its tributaries.’
