The Eden Rivers Trust is the only charity dedicated to the conservation and protection of the River Eden, its tributaries and its surrounding countryside.

We raise funds and work in partnership with others to carry out research on the health of the river environment, undertake habitat restoration projects and educate people about the importance of their environment.

To date we have carried out habitat restoration works, conducted electrofishing surveys throughout the Eden catchment, worked with over 30 schools a year and pioneered a new surveying technique; R.A.R.E.

We believe that the River Eden is a precious freshwater resource that everyone should be proud of. We want to encourage people to enjoy their Eden and, through education, enable them to help us look after it.
